Alfaro Falla lives on the farm with his wife Dona Carmen Tuila Campo and their two children. He has always been dedicated to the production of coffee in the region and is a member of the ASPROSI organisation. The coffee is grown in the shade of banana, guamo, orange and coffee walnut trees. His wife Dona Carmen is actively engaged in the community helping to ensure political empowerment to give them a voice to be heard. They are also actively involved in joint agricultural production within the community to share the food they grow. They have good infrastructure on the farm for the production and processing of coffee with fermentation tanks and a good electric depulper.
Once harvested the coffee is depulped and left to ferment for 18 hours before being washed and screened 4 times with clean water. From here it is then dried on shade beds for 8 – 10 days.
