Elmer Burton has been growing coffee for 10 years on his farm and he has been part of the ASPROBALBOA organisation since it began. He has always worked to help improve the quality of the coffee produced within the organisation helping to implement new practices in the growing and processing of the coffee. This has shown in the quality of the coffee he produces. He as been growing the colombia & castillo varieties for the past 4-5 years among the Guamo trees providing shade.
Once harvested the coffee is de-pulped and then left to ferment for 18 hours before before being washed with clean water 4 times to remove all the mucilage. The coffee is then dried for 8 days on raised beds in parabolic driers.
