Teofilo Bermeo is the owner of El Sauce, a 4 hectare farm named after the willow trees that grow there. It is located in San Pedro de Churuyacu, Tabacones, in the San Ignacio region of northern Peru.
Don Teofilo has been producing coffee for almost 40 years and now, with the help of his sons, he is focusing on specialty coffee and improving the quality of his coffee through experimentation and diversification of varieties. Since diversifying, Teofilo is growing Caturra, Bourbon, Pache and Icatu.
As well as producing some of the best coffee in Peru, Don Teofilo also makes aguardiente - a home-distilled firewater. Due to the potency and flavour of his aguardiente, Don Teofilo has become famous throughout Cajamarca.

This year we have chosen Teofilo's outstanding lot as our Golden Ticket. Within one of the GrainPro liners of this 55 bag lot is a golden ticket bearing the image of a llama, which awards the person who finds it an expenses paid trip to Peru, travelling with Falcon Specialty, later in 2018.
